STRATEGY

In Vietnam, Bosch is a trusted German household brand known for performance, precision, and durability. However, this equity exists in silos across home appliances, power tools, and mobility aftermarket. We sought to unify this perception and reposition Bosch not just as a category leader, but as an integral part of Vietnamese home culture — emotionalizing a brand long defined by functional attributes. To achieve this, we applied Vero’s Earned Approach Principle — Story, Influence, Change — mapped across long-, mid-, and short-term social transformation.

STORY | Long-term: Building a Socially Fluent Brand Narrative

Bosch needed to evolve from a function-led brand into a culturally relevant voice. We translated product strengths into a socially native narrative around home culture to celebrate pride, precision, and personal standards in Vietnamese homemaking. Social listening uncovered strong conversations around home life, enabling Bosch to anchor itself within this space. This informed a unified storytelling platform deployed across creators and brand-owned channels — sustaining relevance beyond a single campaign.

INFLUENCE | Mid-term: Building Cultural Resonance Through the Right Voice

To make the narrative credible, Bosch cast against category norms where homemaking is typically portrayed through women. We partnered with Huy Trần, a lifestyle creator known for his gentle, family-orientated persona, representing modern Vietnamese men who take pride in the home. The campaign introduced a twist — positioning him as the “boss” of the home through a more confident tone. This contrast sparked intrigue, ultimately reinforcing that true standards come from care, precision, and doing things right for family.

CHANGE | Short-term: Driving Engagement and Cultural Momentum

The campaign came alive through high-impact, social-first executions. Virtual OOH posts served as a replicable content template, amplified by creator content and culturally resonant storytelling designed not just to be seen, but shared and scaled for immediate traction.

INSIGHT

Within Vietnam’s home technology category, messaging is crowded with promises of effortless living through appliances that eliminate chores. But our research revealed a key insight: For Vietnam’s rising middle class, especially young families, the home is not a place to rest. It’s a place to do — to organize, improve, care for, and perfect. This can be seen in the sharp rise of monthly average search volume for indoor plants and cooking recipes, as well as the popularity of content featuring home projects like gardening, storage organization, and basic home repairs. Since COVID, Vietnamese homes have become a vibrant personal world. Here, home tasks are not burdens to escape but expressions of pride and personal standards. This insight unlocked a new emotional territory for Bosch, a brand well-known in Vietnam for its German engineering. Brand positive sentiment drivers include strong performance (35%), smooth operation (21%), and high build quality (13%). By connecting Bosch’s strong brand equity to Vietnamese homeowners’ everyday reality, the team identified a new and powerful point of differentiation: not what technology can do, but how it respects the standards of the people who use it. Thus, instead of positioning Bosch as a replacement of human effort, this campaign reframes the brand as a partner — championing the deep satisfaction of doing things right, your way.

CREATIVE IDEA

The powerful insight inspired us to shine a spotlight not on the technology itself, but on the homeowners who use it — crystallizing into Rule Like a Bosch. Because in a world where technology often demands adaptation, Bosch promises the opposite with intuitive tools that follow the user’s rhythm and meet their standards. Next, the team chose charismatic lifestyle influencer and chef Huy Trần to embody the campaigns’ home-run manifesto, “Run Your Home With Your Standards” (#NhaNayPhaiCoBosch). Known for his genuine, family-first mindset, Huy Trần often centers his home life online, from cooking for his wife to reviewing products for his baby. This content naturally reflects Bosch’s values of care, reliability, and thoughtful living, while also blending the familiar notion of “traditional male authority” with a heartfelt portrayal of men’s love for family. Plus, his Vietnamese-German heritage created a natural link to Bosch’s own German roots. Execution relied on close collaboration between Bosch, Huy Trần, and the Vero team, ensuring seamless integration of Bosch appliances into Huy Trần’s real-life routines and personal spaces. By anchoring the narrative in authentic, lived-in moments — rather than high-gloss, production-heavy storytelling — the campaign allowed product performance, design, and relevance to shine organically. The last puzzle piece for the campaign was the writing. The similarity of Bosch’s name with the word ‘boss’ allowed the campaign to tap into ideas of authority and household mastery, while witty wordplay worked to capture local attention and bring in the joy of everyday rituals. For instance, one virtual OOH asset reads, “Anh không bao giờ khoan nhượng. Anh đã khoan là phải chuẩn!” Here, the Vietnamese word “khoan” carries two meanings: in “khoan nhượng”, it means leniency, while in “khoan chuẩn”, it refers to drilling with precision. The contrast highlights the Bosch homeowner’s mindset: uncompromising in attitude, flawless in execution.

CONNECTION PLAN

To translate Bosch’s narrative into cultural impact, we deployed a social-first, earned-led channel mix anchored on Facebook, TikTok, and PR — each playing a distinct role across reach, engagement, and credibility. Facebook served as the primary reach driver. With 94% penetration across age groups (Statista, 2025), it enabled Bosch to achieve immediate mass visibility among a broad, cross-generational audience.

Brand-owned channels, alongside influencer and creator content, ensured consistent storytelling at scale.TikTok drove cultural relevance. With the household living category growing 247% YoY on TikTok Shop (Younet ECI), it provided the ideal environment to translate Bosch’s message into social-native behaviors and content.

PR reinforced credibility. While social expanded reach, PR connected Bosch with existing users, grounding the campaign in authority through editorial storytelling — both humanizing the brand through Huy Trần’s family life and unpacking the campaign’s strategic thinking.

Instead of traditional OOH, Bosch leveraged virtual OOH as a social-native alternative — transforming static visibility into participatory content and enabling community-driven amplification. The campaign unfolded in three phases across November–December 2025: Trigger (“Every Home Has a ‘Bosch’”) introduced the idea through teaser films and virtual OOH; Unveil reframed authority as care; appreciate encouraged audiences to celebrate their home, "Bosch". Through Huy Trần’s fun and authoritative voice across 3 TVCs, 7 virtual OOH placements, over 100 digital ads and social content, and 50 PR articles, the campaign spoke to modern Vietnamese homeowners through a powerful emotional lens: joy and pride in homemaking. Moreover, 20 KOLs and KOCs selected through Vero’s proprietary influencer selection tool TrueVibe™ amplified the message, extending reach while reinforcing credibility within home and lifestyle conversations.
