STRATEGY
The Strategic Pivot: From Mass Visibility to Cultural Advocacy
In a market where premium pasteurised milk often struggles to differentiate beyond "freshness", Vinamilk Green Farm sought to transcend the traditional "commodity" role. We identified a critical gap: while the beverage industry was saturated with coffee-centric campaigns, the "Matcha" movement was surging among Gen Z as a high-passion, aesthetic-driven niche that lacked a dominant local dairy partner.
Our strategy moved away from broad-reach tactics to a high-fidelity advocacy model built on three "wins":
Win on the Right Trend – The Matcha Moment: We claimed the Matcha territory before it reached mass-market fatigue. By positioning Green Farm as the "essential canvas" for premium matcha, we secured a sharp, ownable role that avoided the noise of broader dairy categories.
Win on the Right Touchpoint – The Tastemaker Endorsement: We bypassed traditional retail-led awareness in favour of "Source Credibility". By partnering with curated, high-taste matcha shops, we turned the product into a "behind-the-bar" seal of quality. When the experts chose Green Farm, the consumers followed.
Win on the Right Social Channel – The Threads Platform: Recognising the shift from passive scrolling to active discourse of the Gen Z audience, we prioritised Threads as our primary advocacy hub. This allowed the campaign to move beyond "views" toward high-quality, community-led recommendations and "slow-content" discussions that felt like trusted peer advice rather than corporate advertising.
INSIGHT
The Social Insight: From "Influencer Fatigue" to "Expert Validation" Modern youth (Gen Z and Alpha) have developed a high "crap detector" for polished, 15-second TikTok advertisements. This influencer fatigue has shifted their trust away from paid spokespeople and toward the subtle signals of excellence—the actual ingredients and tools used by professionals behind the scenes.
The Tension: Consumers want the café-quality experience at home but feel that homemade versions often "fade" or lack the professional texture they crave.
The Customer Insight: The Connoisseur’s Vouch. For a matcha enthusiast, the milk is not just a mixer; it is the canvas. The brand realised that credibility is transferable: if the "Matcha Elite" (speciality baristas and cult-followed tastemakers) use Green Farm to craft their signature drinks, it becomes the undisputed standard. We didn't need to tell consumers our milk was high-quality; we let the tea connoisseurs prove it through their own craft, transforming the brand from a choice into a "standard".
CREATIVE IDEA
Creative Idea: TÔN TRÀ (Tea Elevating)
The creative platform “Tôn Trà” positions Vinamilk Green Farm as the indispensable, trusted partner for premium tea enthusiasts. While standard milks often mask the delicate nuances of Matcha or Houjicha, Green Farm’s "never overpowering" profile acts as an enabler to elevate the authentic taste of tea, helping consumers replicate the iconic, store-bought experience at their own home bar.
Moving beyond typical brand claims, the idea is rooted in provable excellency. We cascaded the “Tôn Trà” philosophy through a seamless O2O ecosystem – transitioning from digital "Masterclass" content on Threads to physical “Tôn Tea Workshops” and co-created menus at credible matcha shops. This ensured the creative concept wasn't just a marketing message, but a tangible sensory experience that could be tasted and cherished.
CONNECTION PLAN
Reframing the Voice of Influence: Our connection plan redefined influence by prioritising "resonance over reach", executed through a three-layered social ecosystem:
Layer 1: Co-Creation in Offline Experience: Green Farm was integrated into the R&D of top-tier matcha shops. We didn't just place products; we co-created exclusive "Green Farm x Matcha" menus for the holiday seasons with 1996 Matcha, Matte, Cà Rè, and S’mores. This turned the physical café into a live demonstration of the product’s superiority, making it an indispensable part of the consumer's sensory experience.
Layer 2: The Matcha-Cult Community: Rather than relying on isolated influencer endorsements, we mobilised the 'Matcha-Cult Community' through a strategy of collective expertise. We curated a network of KOCs and UGC creators – recognized not for their follower count, but for their genuine obsession with matcha artistry – to experience our co-created menus. By positioning these 'matcha tastemakers' at the forefront of the conversation, the campaign bypassed commercial scepticism. Their authentic, first-hand reviews generated a powerful 'ripple effect' of trust within niche tea circles, establishing Green Farm as a culturally vetted standard through peer-to-peer validation."
Layer 3: The Conversational Thread: To maximise trust, we prioritised Threads as our primary advocacy hub. While TikTok drove top-of-funnel visual awareness, Threads served as the 'Community Hall' for granular, authentic engagement. We moved beyond one-way messaging by orchestrating organic user to share about their 'secret menu' finds as well as Green Farm as their newly discovered staple for matcha-making rituals.
This tactical pivot successfully offloaded the role of 'advocacy' from the brand to the community, resulting in a self-sustaining loop of earned media that established Green Farm as the undisputed choice for the modern tea connoisseur.
